One of the learning outcomes for this class is having the opportunity to practice mathematical communication and presentation. For presentation purposes, most mathematicians and scientists use the LaTeX typesetting software (developed by D. Knuth) and you are required to submit your homework solutions using LaTeX. Here's some basic guidelines to get you up and running:
In case you're curious: I use the MikTeX distribution on my MacOS and the text editor I use is TexPad (purchase required). In the past, I used the freely available TeXworks editor. Some other editors I've encountered are: TeXnicCenter, TeXMacs, TeXshop. Each has their own merits, just choose what you're most comfortable with.
