I have a strong interest in providing undergraduates with opportunities to learn further topics in pure mathematics. Realising an accessible path between undergraduate-level mathematics and the ideas and problems undertaken by research-level mathematicians allows students to gain insight as to what it is the modern mathematician does. In doing so, students gain perspective on their current studies and (hopefully!) motivation to pursue their academic interests further.

In Summer 2015 I organised (together with Patrick Wilson, UC Berkeley) an eight week summer research experience in geometry and topology for undergraduates at the University of California, Berkeley, with funding from the National Science Foundation. Furthermore, I have been a mentor in the UC Berkeley Directed Reading Program for several semesters, supervising programs of individual study in topics such as the representation theory of the symmetric group, the Ringel-Hall algebra, and Hilbert's Nullstellensatz and algebraic geometry.

If you are interested in talking with me about any mathematics topics that you are interested in, or looking for guidance on undertaking individual programs of study and/or summer research opportunities, then please feel free to send me an email!
