I am a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics at Colby College.

I spent my childhood on Royal Deeside in the north-east of Scotland before I ventured south to the University of Edinburgh to undertake an undergraduate education in mathematics. I completed a Master of Advanced Study in pure mathematics at Trinity College, Cambridge, (affectionately known as 'Part III of the Mathematical Tripos') and undertook my PhD in mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley, under the direction of Prof. Constantin Teleman. I departed sunny California for the East Coast, teaching at Harvard University and Middlebury College, before arriving in majestic Maine.

In my thesis research I described a new approach to computing the quantum cohomology of weight varieties and investigated the appearance of combinatorial representation-theoretic structures in the mirror symmetry of flag varieties. Further details can be found at my 'Research' page.
