Chapter Two - Morpeth, Northumberland -18th Feb 1868

     Trevor Longstaff reports a family tradition that one of our ancestors was murdered. The newspaper account of Mark Longstaff's death (below) appeared in The Hexham Courant on the morning of 18 February 1868. It's a gruesome story, to be sure, but a part of our Longstaff family history.
