I did this as an alternative to the java based http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html that leaks memory and crashes on many machines.
The other canal webcams Miraflores, Miraflores high res, Gatun, Gatun high res and the Canal Expansion using this alternate approach.
