EXERCISE ON "YIXIA" AND "YIDIANR"

Either "Yixia" (一下) or "Yidianr" (一點兒) can be added to a verb phrase when you want to soften a request, command, or suggestion by making it sound more casual and brief. "Yixia" literally means "a swipe" and refers to the length of time the verb will take. Thus it quantifies the verb. "Yidianr" on the other hand literally means "a bit" and quantifies the object of the verb. Practice making distinctions below

我們喝茶吧。
那個人是誰? 你看
我去
你想聽甚麼音樂?
來,我給你們介紹
請你坐,我去找他。
你想吃甚麼?
那是甚麼歌? 你聽吧。
