TEXT: P. Hurley, A Concise Introduction to Logic, 8e
Other assigned materials will be put on reserve (R)

NOTE: You are expected to attend every class, to come prepared each day to discuss the reading and homework assigned, and to read and respond to class e-mail. (You will need an active Colby e-mail account and to check it at least three times each week.) Nine quizzes and three exams—including the final—are scheduled. The highest six of the nine quizzes will count (each quiz will be 25 points); each of the exams will be 100 points; so all of this equals 450 points. In addition, there will be occasional, short, unannounced quizzes in class that will add another 50 points. Total points, 500.

POLICY ON MISSED QUIZZES AND EXAMS: NO MAKE-UPS ON QUIZZES except for bona fide medical emergencies. Make-up exams will be given only when an absence is excused in advance.
