The Havard student guide
Letıs Go says Frankfort
has the highest crime rate
in Europe and recommends
the Zoo, the Palmengarten
and Goetheıs birthplace where
in addition to seeing a
typical bourgeois home
of the late 18th century
you will find crowds of
male Japanese tourists
with cameras and English
speaking guides. The new
Frankfurt is in the railway
Station surrounded by movie
houses SEX PERVERS
non-stop strip joints
bierstube and milchstube
everybody speaks English
except the Tunisians
Neapolitans and Greeks
who walk arm in arm
Saturday afternoon and
all day Sunday back and
forth and in circles
older ones in jackets
and ties with fantastic
noses and mustaches
young ones peacocked
in frilled shirts and
silk handkerchiefs
scusi, sai dove sta
lıautomatico per
francobolli on the move
on the prowl, breaking out
into loud laughs
and echoing chants
or slipping around
the corner to wait
in line at the boarded
alley where the fat girl
comes out to bargain
and the old witch
sits on a chair
under a naked bulb.
