Just Beyond Reason

Poems by Patrick Brancaccio

For Ruth

For Estelle, In Lieu of Flowers

In her name
You must travel light,
wear only wit
and an open heart.

From her soul
you must take a spark
to light your way
with flames of love.

Step over hate
and the pit of Self,
give alms to all
and feed them grace.

Sons and daughters
are you all
sons and daughters
you must remain.

In her name
you must travel light
love for all
leaves none the less.
