Patrick Brancaccio taught 19th-century American literature, modern American drama, detective fiction, and Italian fiction and film. He has published essays on American literature, African literature, and translations from the Italian. He was one of the founders of the African-American Studies Program at Colby, has been a Fulbright Senior Lecturer in Madagascar, and was for several years Resident Director of the Colby in London Theater Program. 

Research In progress: translation of Ennio Flaiano, Lettere d'Amore al Cinema -- essays and reviews of Italian and American films of the 1940's and 1950's.
